We’ll educate you about the common injuries of yoga. the challenges of making it as a yoga teacher in this economy, and what to actually expect on your path of yoga.

Asana: Practice & Teaching

Thorough, in-depth asana practice of all categories of yoga poses, including standing postures, balancing poses, arm balances, inversions, backbends, twists, seated poses, hip openers and forward bends. Learn to adapt and modify these poses for different bodies, and expect to thoroughly deepen and polish your own practice.


Anatomy, Alignment & Mobility

Principles of alignment, anatomy, mobility and kinesiology, and their relevant application to all types of poses. Deepen your understanding of how the body moves and functions.


Home Practice

How to develop a strong home practice, which is the most potent way to keep your teaching fresh and inspired.



Effective sequencing strategies for beginner, open levels, and intermediate/advanced groups. Includes a template for 60, 75 and 90-minute classes. Develop the art of skillful sequencing for classes of all levels, creating experiences that empower and inspire.



Developing meaningful themes, and a structure to weave themes into your class that gives your students deeper insight and understanding.


Teaching Techniques

Discover how to offer clear and confident verbal and physical adjustments, ensuring your students feel supported and guided.


Inversion Progressions

Progressive science of learning and teaching inversions, including how to work with fear and other limiting beliefs. Learn techniques to support al levels of practitioners, from raw beginners to experienced yogis.


Meditation & Pranayama

Pranayama (breath practice) and meditation techniques, and how to expertly teach these in public classes.


Injury Awareness

Survey of common yoga injuries, and how to empower yourself and your students to practice in a way that promotes radiant health.


Yoga Philosophy

History and philosophy of yoga and its practical relevance to the modern day yogi.


Holistic Lifestyle

Yoga lifestyle, which includes food and nutrition, daily practices, and the simple wisdom of ayurveda you can use to thrive and lead by example.


The Business of Yoga

The business of yoga, including how to market yourself and grow your teaching career post-graduation.

Justicia DeClue she/ her

Justicia DeClue, E-RYT-500, is the director of the Maha Teacher Training. She has been teaching yoga since 2005, and is the co-owner of Maha Yoga. She is especially passionate about the therapeutic potential of asana practice when applied within the lens of mobility.

Desiree Sparrow she/her

Desiree Sparrow, E-RYT-500, R-PYT, YACEP has been teaching yoga since 2002 and leading yoga teacher trainings since 2012. Desiree was also the former owner, lead teacher trainer and program director of Breathe Yoga and The LI Kula Yoga and Wellness Center in New York. She offers a unique, integrative approach to yoga which is heavily influenced by tantric philosophy, Ayurveda and biomechanics.
