IMMERSION

YOGA & FUNCTIONAL MOBILITY IMMERSION

OCTOBER – DECEMBER, 2024

Immersion is the heart and soul of Maha. It’s designed for serious students who want to deepen their practice of yoga by exploring functional movement, mobility, anatomy and philosophy, and how they relate to asana practice.

The deep wisdom of yoga gives us a system of tools and practices to engage a life of profound  meaning. Through the research-backed mobility system of Functional Range Conditioning (FRC), we learn to make our joints more resilient, our bodies more balanced. Together, yoga and FRC give us the means to know ourselves deeply.

This is the training for you when you’re ready to deepen your practice, and you want to take a deep dive into yoga with an eye on the latest in modern exercise science.

You will learn how to open your physical body where you are stuck, and how to build strength where you are weak. The course discusses common yoga injuries and how to avoid them, as well as the safe practice of inversions using a sound science of progressions.

Throughout the five weekends, you’ll deepen your understanding of your physical body – its strengths, weaknesses, imbalances, and general tendencies – and how your practice can transform your life. We will explore asana, pranayama (breath) techniques, Ayurveda, the subtle body and FRC, all held within the uplifting, life-affirming container of Ranjanaka yoga philosophy.

All levels of practitioners are welcome, with one year of practice minimum recommended to join.

The training is co-taught by Alan Foran, Desiree Sparrow and Justicia DeClue.
